Cartridges for machines that repeat the same joint ten thousand times.
Automatic soldering lives or dies on repeatability. A cartridge that is 0.05 mm off centre changes the joint height on every cycle, so these three series are built around shaft straightness, concentricity and batch-to-batch consistency rather than shape alone.

The machine repeats what the cartridge allows it to repeat.
In a manual iron, a small misalignment is corrected by the operator's wrist. In a robotic cell there is no wrist: the cartridge is clamped in a holder and the machine repeats the same motion until the tip wears out. Any run-out in the shaft becomes a run-out in the joint, and any variation in shaft length becomes a variation in solder height.
We grind the shaft and the seat on the same set-up, hold concentricity to ±0.05 mm, and measure a sample from every batch. The dimension report travels with the goods, so a replacement batch can be compared with the batch it replaces instead of being assumed equivalent.

Pick the page that matches your machine.
Each series page carries its own geometry table, compatibility notes, dimension key and ordering data.
Selection
From the joint to a code.
Start with what the joint needs, not with the part number you last bought. The codes below are examples within the series, not the only options.
| Joint or task | Face | Example code | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Repeated through-hole joint | Chisel | UNIX P2D-N / Apollo DS | Stable face, repeatable height |
| Drag over a row | Blade | UNIX L12DVAP / Apollo DCS | Line contact along the row |
| Fine pad | Conical | UNIX P1V10-23 | Small face, low mass |
| Recessed joint | Bent | UNIX L2D-N / Apollo DN | Reach without rotating the head |
| Large lug | Wide chisel | Apollo SG40PAD10 | Heat before the lug sinks it |
| Connector shell | Blade, long | L16DVAP | Access past the housing |
Face width and reach still have to be checked against the board or the holder. Send the dimensions and we will narrow the table to two or three codes.
Compatibility
Series, machines and what to check.
| Series | Fits | Note |
|---|---|---|
| UNIX | UNIX P / L series holders | Shaft clamp |
| Apollo | Apollo RDD / DS / DCS holders | Set-screw or clamp |
| DVAP | DVAP L / P series holders | Confirm shaft length |
Model names describe the machine a part fits. XANJO replacement parts are independent parts, not original equipment manufacturer parts.
Questions we are asked
Fitting, drawings and ordering.
How do I specify a robotic cartridge?
Give the machine model, the holder type and the part number you use now. If the number is unknown, send the shaft diameter, the shaft length and a photograph of the working face. Those four facts are enough to identify the series and shortlist the geometry.
Why does concentricity matter more than on a hand tip?
Because the machine cannot correct for it. A hand tip that is slightly off centre is adjusted by the operator; a cartridge that is off centre tilts the face by the same amount on every joint, which changes the contact area and the solder height.
Can I mix UNIX and Apollo cartridges in one machine?
Only if the holder accepts both shaft patterns. The two series are different interfaces; the machine model and holder decide which one fits. We confirm against the holder drawing before quoting.
Are these original manufacturer parts?
No. XANJO makes independent replacement cartridges. UNIX and Apollo describe the machine interface, DVAP describes the cartridge family; the names are used only to explain compatibility.
Send the machine model. We’ll send the drawing.
A model number, a holder photograph or an old part is enough. You get the series, the geometry shortlist and the published dimensions within one working day.
