200 series tips for 90 W high-frequency stations.

The 200 series is the tip family for QUICK high-frequency stations: a ring seat, a 90 W heater and a large thermal mass in a short body. It is the family to reach for when the joint is a through-hole pin on a thick board, or a lug that keeps sinking heat.

What it is

Built for thermal mass, not for fine pitch.

Definition: A 200 series soldering tip is a replacement tip for QUICK 203H, 204H, 2000A and 200K high-frequency stations. It seats on a ring at the heater collar rather than in a push-fit barrel, and is usually supplied in horseshoe (1C–4C), chisel (D), conical (B/I/J) and bent (LI) geometries.

High-frequency stations recover quickly because the heater is close to the working face, but recovery is only half the problem: a joint with a large copper pour will still pull heat out of a small tip faster than the station can replace it. The 200 series answers that with volume — a horseshoe or a wide chisel that stores solder and heat at the same time.

That is why the family is dominated by 1C, 2C and 4C horseshoes and by 2.4 mm to 4 mm chisels, with conical geometries reserved for the occasional fine pad on the same board.

Published geometries

200 codes, shapes and typical joints.

Face width is quoted as the class range for that code. The exact A/B/C/D dimensions for a specific part number are issued with the quotation, not estimated on the page.

Dimensions

Four numbers define a tip.

A is the overall length from the seat to the working face. B is the shank or tube diameter. C is the width of the working face. D is the reach from the seat reference to the face — the number that decides whether the tip can touch the joint without the housing fouling the board.

We hold ±0.05 mm on the shank and seat, and we issue the drawing revision with every batch. If a dimension is not measured, it does not go on the drawing: that is why some codes are marked “drawing on request” rather than filled with an estimate.

Questions we are asked

200 fitting and ordering.

Why does my 200 series tip lose heat on a big joint?

Usually because the working face is too small for the copper it is heating, not because the station is underpowered. A 1C horseshoe holds far less solder and heat than a 4C on the same collar. Move up one face size before you move the temperature up.

What is the difference between C and D geometry?

C is a horseshoe: a concave face that holds a solder bead and wraps a pin. D is a chisel: a flat face with a defined edge, better for dragging along a row of pads or a lug. On the same joint the horseshoe transfers heat more gently, the chisel more directly.

Do 200 series tips fit 900M irons?

No. The 200 series seats on a ring at the heater collar, while 900M tips are push-fit into the barrel. The two families are not interchangeable.

Are these original manufacturer parts?

No. 200 describes the station interface. XANJO replacement tips are independent parts and are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any original equipment manufacturer.

Send the part number. We’ll send the drawing.

A code, an iron model or a photograph of the socket is enough. We reply with the geometry, the A/B/C/D drawing and the plating specification within one working day.
