Hand soldering tips, by series.
Four series cover the hand-soldering irons most often in service in Europe: 900M, T18, T12 and the 200 high-frequency family. Each page gives the seat, the geometry range, the compatible irons and the ordering data — before you ask for a quote.

The iron decides the series. The joint decides the shape.
Most catalogue pages list part numbers alphabetically and leave the buyer to work out whether the tip will fit. We do it the other way round: the series page states the seat and the compatible irons first, then the geometry table, so a wrong order is caught before it is placed.
All four series are turned, ground, plated and sorted in the same plant. The copper is oxygen-free, the barrier layer is nickel, the working layer is iron, and the shank is held to ±0.05 mm. Those four facts decide whether a tip lasts or fails early — not the colour of the box.

Each series page carries its own geometry table, compatibility notes, dimension key and ordering data.

Geometry
Six shapes do almost all the work.
The shape decides how heat and solder reach the joint. The series decides whether the tip fits the iron. Choose the shape first, then confirm the code within your series.
Conical
0.5–2.0 mm · Single pins and fine pads. The smallest contact area, the least heat stored.
Chisel
1.0–5.0 mm · Flat face with a defined edge. General pads, lugs, drag soldering.
Bevel
1.0–4.0 mm · Angled face that holds a fillet. Drag soldering multi-pin rows.
Knife
2.0–5.0 mm · Blade edge for connector rows and pulling solder along a joint.
Horseshoe
1.0–4.0 mm · Concave face that wraps a pin and stores a solder bead.
Bent
30° / 45° · Bent shank for joints under a tall component or beside a housing.
Selection
From the joint to a code.
Start with what the joint needs, not with the part number you last bought. The codes below are examples within the four series, not the only options.
| Joint | Geometry | Example codes | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0.4–0.5 mm pitch IC | Conical, fine | 900M-T-I / T18-I / T12-B | Low mass, no bridge to the neighbour |
| Through-hole pin, thick board | Horseshoe | 200-2C / 200-4C / 900M-T-2C | Stored solder and heat around the pin |
| Connector row, drag | Knife or bevel | 900M-T-K / T12-K / T18-C | Edge carries solder along the row |
| Shield or ground plane | Wide chisel | 900M-T-3.2D / 200-D | Large contact face before the pad cools |
| Recessed joint | Bent | 900M-T-LI / 200-LI | Reach without fouling the housing |
| Wire lug | Chisel | T18-D / 900M-T-2.4D | Direct heat into the barrel of the lug |
Face width and reach still have to be checked against the board. Send the pad or pin dimensions and we will narrow the table to two or three codes.
Compatibility
Series, irons and what is inside.
| Series | Fits | Note |
|---|---|---|
| 900M | 900M / 907 / 908 / 936 / FX-888 | 180 geometries in the family |
| T18 | FX-888D / FX-889 | Same seat pattern, later housing |
| T12 | FX-950 / FX-951 / FM-203 / FM-206 | Integrated cartridge, sleeve seat |
| 200 | QUICK 203H / 204H / 2000A / 200K | 90 W high-frequency, ring seat |
Model names describe the machine a tip fits. XANJO replacement tips are independent parts, not original equipment manufacturer parts.
Questions we are asked
Series, compatibility and ordering.
What counts as a hand soldering tip?
A hand soldering tip is the replaceable working end of a soldering iron: the part that touches the joint and transfers heat from the heater. Hand soldering covers irons held by an operator, as opposed to robotic cartridges, hot-bar thermodes or wave solder nozzles, which are tooled and sold separately.
Why group tips by series instead of by shape?
Because fit comes before shape. A buyer usually knows the iron before knowing the geometry, and a tip that does not seat correctly will not perform whatever its shape. Each series page gives the seat, the housing and the geometries that fit it.
Can I mix series in one order?
Yes. The minimum order is 20 pieces per geometry, and codes from different series can be combined in one shipment. Mixed-series sample packs are the usual way a workshop starts.
Do you publish dimensions for every code?
We publish the geometry family, the face-width class and the seat data on this page. The exact A/B/C/D drawing for a specific part number is issued with the quotation, because a dimension we have not measured does not belong on a drawing.
Tell us the iron. We’ll tell you the code.
Photograph the empty socket or send the model number. You get the series, the geometry shortlist and the drawing within one working day.
