Point nozzles: one pin, one column.
A point nozzle releases a single narrow column of solder onto one through-hole pin. The orifice diameter sets the column; the edge sets whether it stays vertical.

What it is
A narrow column is easier to aim and harder to keep stable.
The smaller the orifice, the less solder the column carries and the more the edge matters. A 0.8 mm orifice with a burr will deflect; the same orifice with a lapped edge will rise straight. That is why point nozzles are finished after machining rather than used as drilled.
For a pin with a large pad, a slightly larger orifice gives a more forgiving column. For fine pitch, a smaller orifice limits the solder per pin and reduces bridging to the neighbour. The choice is made from the pad, not from the pin alone.
Published geometries
Point codes, faces and typical joints.
Face width is quoted as the class for that code. The exact A/B/C/D dimensions for a specific part number are issued with the quotation, not estimated on the page.
| Code | Face | Working width | Typical joint |
|---|---|---|---|
| P-0.8 | Point | 0.8 mm orifice | Fine-pitch pin |
| P-1.0 | Point | 1.0 mm orifice | Standard through-hole |
| P-1.2 | Point | 1.2 mm orifice | Pin with a larger pad |
| P-1.5 | Point | 1.5 mm orifice | Heavy pin |
| P-1.5L | Point, long | 1.5 mm orifice | Deep access |
| P-2.0 | Point | 2.0 mm orifice | Large pad |
Codes are listed by face family. Variants with a different width, bend or reach are ground to order; send the drawing or the joint photograph and we will confirm the code.
Compatibility
What it fits — and what to check.
| Machine or holder | Interface | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Point nozzle holder | single orifice | Confirm thread |
| Selective wave machine | point nozzle | Confirm body length |
| Slot holder | slotted orifice | Use slot series |
Model names describe the machine a part fits. XANJO replacement parts are independent parts, not original equipment manufacturer parts.
Dimensions
Four numbers define the part.
A is the overall length from the seat to the working face. B is the shank or body diameter. C is the width of the working face. D is the reach from the seat reference to the face — the number that decides whether the part can touch the joint without the housing fouling the board.
We hold ±0.05 mm on the shank and seat, and we issue the drawing revision with every batch. If a dimension is not measured, it does not go on the drawing: that is why some codes are marked “drawing on request” rather than filled with an estimate.
Ordering
Samples, minimums and lead time.
Point nozzles are machined to the orifice and body length; stock covers the common diameters.
- Minimum order
- 20 pcsper geometry, mixed codes allowed within a family
- Custom samples
- 5 daysground or machined on the production line
- Stocked codes
- 48 hdispatch after order confirmation
- Batch documents
- Includeddimension report, plating or face report, RoHS 3 declaration
Questions we are asked
Point fitting and ordering.
Which orifice size should I start with?
Start with the pin diameter plus the fillet you need, then check the pad. A 1.0 mm orifice is the usual starting point for a standard through-hole pin; go smaller for fine pitch.
Why does my column lean?
Usually because the orifice edge is damaged or the bore is partly blocked. Inspect the edge under magnification and clean the bore before changing the diameter.
Can the body length be changed?
Yes, the body is machined to the drawing. Send the overall length and the mount.
Are these OEM parts?
No. XANJO nozzles are independent replacement parts.

If this is not your machine.
Send the part number. We’ll send the drawing.
A code, a machine model or a photograph of the holder is enough. We reply with the geometry, the A/B/C/D drawing and the specification within one working day.
