Custom nozzles: the pad layout is the drawing.

When the pad layout has no standard nozzle, the nozzle is built around the layout. Orifice shape, bore, body length and mount are all variables, and the drawing is the only reliable way to specify them.

What it is

Start from the joint, then work back to the tool.

Definition: A custom nozzle is a selective wave nozzle whose orifice, bore, body and mount are machined to a specific pad layout rather than selected from a standard range.

A custom nozzle is usually needed for one of three reasons: the pads are not on a standard pitch, the joint needs a column shape that a round or rectangular orifice cannot make, or the machine has a mount that no catalogue nozzle fits. Each reason changes a different part of the drawing.

Send the pad layout, the required column shape and the mount. We will propose an orifice, a bore and a body length, quote the tool, and make a sample in five working days. If the first sample needs a change, the change is made to the drawing, not to the operator's technique.

Published geometries

Custom codes, faces and typical joints.

Face width is quoted as the class for that code. The exact A/B/C/D dimensions for a specific part number are issued with the quotation, not estimated on the page.

Codes are listed by face family. Variants with a different width, bend or reach are ground to order; send the drawing or the joint photograph and we will confirm the code.

Model names describe the machine a part fits. XANJO replacement parts are independent parts, not original equipment manufacturer parts.

Dimensions

Four numbers define the part.

A is the overall length from the seat to the working face. B is the shank or body diameter. C is the width of the working face. D is the reach from the seat reference to the face — the number that decides whether the part can touch the joint without the housing fouling the board.

We hold ±0.05 mm on the shank and seat, and we issue the drawing revision with every batch. If a dimension is not measured, it does not go on the drawing: that is why some codes are marked “drawing on request” rather than filled with an estimate.

Questions we are asked

Custom fitting and ordering.

What do you need to quote a custom nozzle?

The pad layout, the required column shape, the machine model and the mount. A PDF drawing is ideal; a dimensioned sketch and a photograph of the old nozzle also work.

Can you make a multi-hole nozzle?

Yes. Multi-hole orifices are machined to the layout and the bore is sized so each hole sees the same flow. The feasibility depends on the hole spacing, so the drawing is reviewed before quoting.

How long does a custom nozzle take?

A sample is typically five working days after the drawing is agreed. Production follows the sample approval.

Are these OEM parts?

No. XANJO nozzles are independent replacement parts.

Send the part number. We’ll send the drawing.

A code, a machine model or a photograph of the holder is enough. We reply with the geometry, the A/B/C/D drawing and the specification within one working day.
